The inaugural Festival of the Passing of the Ice Dragon was held on March 4th, A.S. XII (which corresponds to 1977 in the Common Era). This event quickly captured the imagination of the Æthelmearc community, becoming an iconic and beloved tradition. Over the years, Ice Dragon has grown to become one of the premier events in Æthelmearc, attracting participants from near and far to celebrate the changing of the seasons and showcase the skills, creativity, and camaraderie that define our organization.
What began as a small gathering has flourished into a hallmark of the Æthelmearc calendar, and it continues to be held annually to this day, drawing people together for a weekend of friendly competition, feasting, and fellowship.
